Lila Leblanc

July 22, 1929 — July 24, 2024

Eunice    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lila Thomas LeBlanc, who peacefully departed this life on July 24, 2024, at the age of 95, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Lila was born on July 22, 1929, to James and Ida Thomas. A Chapel Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. A burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with David Guillory officiating.

During her professional career, Lila dedicated forty-five years as a teller at Tri Parish Bank in Eunice before retiring. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her work, as she actively participated in various organizations. She was a proud member of the Woodman of the World ladies auxiliary and served as treasurer for many years. Additionally, she was involved with the Eunice Prairie Cajun Chapter, demonstrating her deep-rooted connection to her community.

Lila's family was paramount in her life, and she took great joy in actively engaging with her children's activities during their formative years. In her leisure time, she indulged in hobbies such as sewing, playing games like "Scrabble" and puzzles, and even embraced social media through Facebook. However, nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren. Her loving presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lila is survived by her daughter, Susan LeBlanc of Opelousas; granddaughter, Rachel LeBlanc Hobbs and husband Wes of White Oak, TX; two great grandchildren: Hailey Hobbs and Ethan Hobbs of White Oak, TX; brothers Paul Thomas of Richmond, TX and Donald "Pete" Thomas and his wife Vada of Sulphur; along with extended family and cherished friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.O. LeBlanc; son, James Stephen LeBlanc; brothers, James V. Thomas, JR and his wife Francis; Charles Wesley Thomas and his wife, Norma.
