Linda Dee Marcantel

     EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Linda Marcantel announces her passing on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 74. Linda’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Bates officiating.

     Linda was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a maw-maw. Linda enjoyed fishing, painting, arts and crafts, tending to her plants, and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. This gentle, loving, and caring woman has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be missed by her three children, Thomas Marcantel of Woodworth, Rachel Marcantel of Eunice, and Susan Marcantel of Mamou; her sister, June Grace of California; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

     She is preceded in death by her husband, Delano “Del” Marcantel; her daughter, Mechelle Marcantel Fontenot; her parents, D. and Mary Haney Birdwell; two brothers and two sisters.

     At the request of the family, a visitation will be held on Friday, October 13th from 11:00 am until time of services.
