Louise Leckelt

IOTA~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Louise Leckelt announces her passing on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Oak Lane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Eunice at the age of 95. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota.  Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Jude Thierry Celebrant.

Louise was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her four children, Larry Leckelt and wife, Cynthia and Richard Leckelt and wife, Susan all of Iota, Patricia Richard and husband, Edward of Richard and Charles Leckelt and wife, Janet of Eunice; eleven grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elson W. Leckelt; her son, Elson H. Leckelt and a infant son; her parents, Henry and Lucia LeJeune Pousson; three brothers, Joseph, Curley and Lawrence Pousson; two grandsons, Henry Leckelt and Michael Richard.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Iota on Friday, July 19th from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, July 20th from 9:00 am until time of services. Rita Hebert will lead the Rosary at 6:00 pm on Friday.
