Eunice

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to our beloved Lydia 'Mary' Cormier LeDoux. Mary peacefully passed away at the age of 96 on September 04, 2023, at Senior Village in Opelousas. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 09, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. A burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Sam Fontana, Celebrant.

Mary was a loving mother and devoted homemaker, finding joy in every moment she spent with her family. Her exceptional culinary skills were admired by all, and her Easter and Christmas celebrations were always filled with love and delectable meals. Mary's gumbo recipe was her legacy, passed down through generations. Gardening brought her solace, and she loved tending to her plants while surrounded by the beauty of nature. Above all else, Mary cherished spending quality time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she showered them with love and affection at every opportunity. They were truly the light of her life, and she will forever reside in their hearts.

Left to cherish her memory are two children: son Rogers LeDoux and wife Connie of Washington, and daughter Janet Jenkins and husband Larry of Baton Rouge. Mary's brother Allen Cormier of Mamou will also deeply feel the void left by her passing as well as her daughter-in-law, Debbie LeDoux of Eunice. The four joys of her life, her grandchildren Brian LeDoux and wife Tina, Steven LeDoux and wife Holly, Jonathan Jenkins, Travis Jenkins and wife Erika:  great-grandchildren Emma LeDoux, Sydni LeDoux, Logan LeDoux, Jayce Jenkins, and James Jenkins hold treasured memories of their beloved grandmother close to their hearts.  She will also be dearly missed by nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.

Mary is now reunited with her parents in eternal rest Ovey and Beatrice Picard Cormier. She joins her son Timmy LeDoux, brother Gurvey Cormier, and sister Hazel DeBarge in the embrace of heaven.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, September 9th from 9:00 am until the time of services.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Senior Village in Opelousas and Traditions Hospice for their unwavering support during Mary's final days. A special thanks also goes to Dr. Louis Nix for his exceptional care and compassion.
