EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marcus Quinn Gorley announces the unexpected loss of a beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, who passed away on Tuesday, March 01, 2022, at his home at the age of 56. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 05, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin, officiating.
Marcus, known to many as “Peanut,” was born in Eunice on December 11, 1965, to Troy and Murris Vidrine Gorley. A proud extended leukemia survivor of St. Jude’s, he worked for many years as a mechanic and salesperson in Eunice, including at Kajun Classic Auto Sales. He loved watching LSU and the Saints football and having a good time, but most of all, he will be remembered for his kind heart and how he cared for his mom, family, and pets.
Marcus will be missed by all who knew and loved him, including his brother, Randy Gorley and wife, Nancy, of Pensacola, FL; his sisters-in-law, Gwen Gorley of Kingwood, TX and Clara Gorley of Houma; his nieces, Shellie Gorley Hallum and husband, Travis, Kristen Gorley Kean and husband, William; nephews, Brandon Gorley and wife, Nicole; Troy Gorley, Kyle Gorley and Tyler Gorley and wife, Kami; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John “Ricky” Gorley and a nephew, Jeremy Gorley.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, March 4th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, March 5th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will lead a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday.
