BASILE~With much sorrow, we announce the passing of Marie Leary Ardoin Butler, on Thursday, December 08, 2016 at Eunice Manor Nursing Home at the age of 90. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 12, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father David Hebert Celebrant.

Marie lived in New Orleans for 31 years and was a retired telephone operator with Bell South. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and enjoyed reading and flower gardening. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her daughter, Nancy Bauer of Minneola, FL; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lance Butler; her parents, William Ardoin and Zoe Fournerat Ardoin; her brother, Melvin Ardoin; two sisters, Agnes Veronie and Veoda Kersten.

At the request of the daughter visitation will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church from 12:00 noon until time of services.
