EUNICE~ With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Marjorie G. Bellow on Monday, January 22, 2024. Marjorie peacefully departed this world in the comfort of her own home at the age of 87. Affectionately known as “Sis” to her many nieces and nephews and “Maude” to her siblings.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

Born on August 08, 1936, to Ozemay and Pauline Thierry Guillory, Marjorie dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker and caring for her family. Having lost her mother four decades ago, she gracefully stepped into the role of mom and grandma for all who needed her comforting presence. As the oldest sibling, Marjorie took on the responsibility of caring for her brothers and sisters. Later in life, she lovingly cared for her father and her loving husband. Her kind-heartedness knew no bounds - after meeting Marjorie, it was impossible not to want to spend more time with her. She effortlessly made everyone feel like part of the family regardless of their background or circumstances. She held the esteemed position of matriarch within our family. Her home was always filled with love and warmth, attracting gatherings where people could enjoy each other's company and indulge in her delicious cooking. A smile would greet you at her door - an unspoken message that said, "welcome home".

Marjorie leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of many including her daughters, Lorraine Papillion and her husband, Paul, and Margaret Lavergne and her husband, Murill  all of Mallet; stepdaughter, Helen Rene` and husband, Lawrence of Pitreville; Her grandson, Deondre Lavergne  of Mallet, held a special place in her heart. In addition to her immediate family, Marjorie is survived by her two adopted daughters: Shirley Rami and her husband, Nolan of Opelousas, and Julie Mouton of Lafayette. Her siblings include Herbert Guillory of Texas City, TX, Linton Guillory of Ypsilanti, MI, Geri Fields of Ann Arbor, MI, and Ruby Ward of Houston, TX. Marjorie was a godmother to Lyn Spencer of Houston, TX; Geneva Guillory of Basile; and Thelma Jean Fontenot of Lake Charles. She will also be fondly remembered by Aunt Elda Kennerson of Port Arthur, TX; special nephews Keith Papillion, William Batiste, Jr. and Herbert Guillory Jr., all residing in Houston, TX; as well as her extended family and countless friends.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her loving husband Allen Bellow; parents Ozemay and Pauline Guillory; sister Loretta Lavergne; brother Clement Guillory; as well as son-in-law Dennis Gobert.
