EUNICE~ On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Mary Doris Deculus, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at the age of 92 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery with Father Bala Rayapati, officiating.
Mary was born in Oakdale on February 24, 1930, to Joseph and Aline Gradney Latour. She loved cooking and dancing, but she enjoyed being a mother and spoiling her grandbabies above all. Her family was everything to her. Mary will be forever remembered by her children, Ellen Patin and husband, John David of Glynn, Shirley Deculus of Rougon, Eddie Deculus and wife, Anastasia of Highland, TX., Ester Gobert and husband, Ricky of Elton, Sue Ann Patin and husband, Emery of Rougon and son-in-law Calvin Patin of Rougon. Mary will also be remembered by her thirteen grandchildren, Nicole Folse, John Patin, Jr, Chad Patin, Joseph Patin, Mikey Patin, A.J. Deculus, Stacia Deculus, Jamie Gobert, Lesly Clarke, Sandy Gobert, Chase Patin, Joshua Patin and Angelle Patin and fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephew and extended family and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ashton Deculus, Jr. and daughter, Janet Patin.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice, on Friday, March 18th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, March 19th from 7:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.
