EUNICE~ On the afternoon Mary Alice was born on May 8, 1939, in Mamou to Lee and Edia Fuselier Douget who preceded her in death. She was a cosmetologist for 13 years and a teacher’s aide in Evangeline Parish for thirteen years. Mary was an avid quilter, loved to bake and cook, and enjoyed playing bingo and cards, especially Bourrée’. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church of Mamou who prayed her Rosary often and volunteered at the church store. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, especially her daughter, Ann Lafleur Junca and husband, Errol of Baldwin; sister-in-law, Peggy Lafleur of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Nicholas Junca and fiancé, Lisa Haskin, Allison Junca, Derek Junca, Emily Junca Deters and husband, Jace, and Troy Matt and wife, Stacey; seven great grandchildren, Dustin Junca, Leif Deters, and Kendall, Jody, Jayden, Keedan, and Chelsea Matt; as well as extended family and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Lafleur; her sons, Wayne Joseph Lafleur and Jodie Stephen Lafleur; her parents, Lee and Edia Fuselier Douget; brothers, Hilton Douget, Liorest Douget, and Lionel Douget; and her sisters, Laura Mae Douget Fontenot and May Grace Douget Soria; father and mother-in-law, Elius and Pearl Marcantel Lafleur; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Evie Lafleur and brother-in-law, Roy Lafleur.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, July 19th from 10:00 am until 3:30 pm. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 2:00 pm by Deacon Gary Gaudin.
