EUNICE-Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Daigle Richard will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 28, 2006, at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice, LA. Burial will follow at St. John Roman Catholic Church Mission Cemetery, Bourque Road in Lewisburg, LA.

Ms. Richard, age 82, a resident of Eunice for 48 years died Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, LA at 6:04 am. Ms. Richard a Nurses Aide at Moosa Memorial Hospital for 33 years; where she rocked many newborns. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Aunt and a friend to all she met. Ms. Richard was born in Church Point, LA on August 27, 1923.

The visitation will be held Sunday, August 27, 2006, from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, August 28, 2006, from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 pm by Anna Lee Fontenot.

Survivors include her three daughters, Theresa Lynnette Manuel and husband, Floyd of Lake Charles, LA., Mildred Millie Ann Meaux and husband, Austin of Crowley, LA., Jacquelyn Lee Lalonde and husband, Kenneth of Eunice, LA; eight grandchildren, Ricky Manuel and wife, Kathy, Jack Manuel and wife, Turia of Moss Bluff, LA., Jason Manuel and wife, Lynette of Westlake, LA., Adam Meaux and wife, Angelle of Church Point, LA., Nathan Meaux of Crowley, Melissa Frey and husband Larry Bubba Frey, Johnette L. Bischoff and husband, Eric, Kevin Lalonde all of Eunice, LA; nine great-gtandchildren, Morgan Manuel, Luke Manuel, Cade Savoy, Katariena Manuel, Jack Joseph Manuel, Taylor Manuel, Brianna Frey, Caroline Frey, Leah Faye Bischoff; brother, Willington Beaugh of Maurice: sister, Joyce D. Savoy of Morgan City, LA; a step-sister, Gladys Bourque, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ms. Richard is preceded in death by her parents, Electa Gay, Leo Daigle and ex-husband, Leroy Toro Richard of Church Point, LA.
