Mickey James
Guillory
Feb 29, 1940 — Aug 3, 2026
EUNICE ~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mickey James Guillory announces his passing on Monday, August 3, 2026, at his home with family by his side at the age of 86. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Eunice United Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie LaCombe officiating.
Mickey was born on February 29, 1940, to the late Winnie and Priscilla Saucier Guillory. He was a musician and horseman who also loved to cook and read. Most of all, he was a proud public servant. Mickey was a retired Louisiana State Police State Trooper and a former Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for District 41, covering Acadia, Evangeline, and St. Landry parishes. He attended LSUE and LSU and also graduated from the Louisiana Police Academy. He also previously served as Eunice City Marshal and was very involved in the Junior Deputy Program, inspiring many young adults about life and leadership. Mickey also served on the Louisiana House Ways and Means Committee. He lobbied many times to keep LSUE open throughout the years and is responsible for being a factor in LSUE’s Classroom Community Education Building funding.
Mickey will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his son, John Ross Guillory and wife, Lisa of Eunice; his daughter, Vickie Gatte and husband, Fralan of Jennings; his two grandchildren, John Rhett Guillory of Eunice, and T.J. Gatte and wife, Caitlin of Jennings; his great grandchild, Gianna Diane Gatte; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Aucoin Guillory; his parents; and brother, John Akin Vidrine.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all his sitters for their dedicated and excellent care provided to Mickey over the last few years.
