EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Monita Benoit announces her passing on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 with loving family by her side at the age of 88. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.

Monita was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her husband of 70 years, Eve Benoit of Eunice; daughter, Welaine A. Benoit of Eunice; three grandchildren, Amanda A. Duplechain, Eric R. Duplechain, and Michael J. Chaumont, all of Eunice; five great grandchildren, Jacob M. Duplechain, Anna H. Duplechain, Sarah M. Duplechain, Audry M. Chaumont and Madeline E. Chaumont; two nieces, Wesley A. "Papoose" Harvey of Evans and Dianne Marcantel of Bundicks; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mayous and Sarah Marcantel Savoy; two sisters, Alverdia "Vert" LaFleur and Anna Belle LaFleur; and two nieces, Emily Fox and Mae Jarene Hamby.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, June 17th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 18th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite at Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday evening.
