Neil Lejeune

EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Neil Lejeune announces his passing on Sunday, December 18, 2022, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 67. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.

Neil’s passion was his church, his family, and his farm. He was a volunteer fireman and a board member of the Acadia-Evangeline Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Basile State Bank Board and the Bayou DeCannes Water System Board. Neil will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Rose Lejeune of Eunice; daughters, Andrea Miller of Duralde, Lauren Comeaux and husband, Chris of Duralde, and Lynnette James and husband, Jay of L’anse Meg; brother, Paul Lejeune and wife, Debbie of Duralde;  sisters, Nadine Cain and husband, Richard of Breaux Bridge, Norma Nix and husband, Steve of Iota, and Melinda Usery and husband, Robert of Livingston, TX; seven grandchildren, Alexys Miller, Joseph Miller, Colin Miller, William Comeaux, Jack Comeaux, Harper James, and Jett James; one great-grandson, Sawyer Miller; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Emery and Wedna Marie Klumpp Lejeune.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, December 20th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, December 21st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will pray a rosary at 6:00 pm Tuesday.
