Nettie Young

EUNICE~ It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Nettie Aucoin Young who passed away at the age of 86 on July 20, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Bates officiating.

   Nettie was born in Eunice on September 21, 1936 in Eunice to Telus and Elmyre Young Aucoin, who preceded her in death. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Eunice, and for many years she led the Senior Adult Luncheons. She was also a former Sunday School teacher at the Chataignier Baptist Church, a former teacher’s aide at East Elementary for special needs children, and she especially enjoyed traveling with family and friends.

     She will be missed dearly by her two sons, Roger Blake Young and wife, Mindy of Atlanta, GA and their children, Noah and Emma Young, and Ward Young of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister, Helen Guillory and husband, Mickey of Eunice; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  She will be forever missed.

     In addition to her parents, Nettie is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Young; brothers, Berkman and Jerry Aucoin.

     At the request of the family, visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Eunice on Friday, July 21 from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm, and again on Saturday, July 22 from 9:00 am until time of services.
