EUNICE-Priscilla Ann Ashford, known to her loved ones as Pris, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the age of 81 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Pris was born on December 10, 1941, in Eunice, Louisiana.
Pris was a kind and gentle soul who always had a genuine concern for the happiness of others. A great storyteller, Pris always drew laughs from those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Pris received her education from St Edmunds High School, where she laid the foundation for a life built on Christian values and filled with knowledge and compassion. Pris found solace and spiritual guidance at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where she worshipped.
Pris is survived by her brother and three loving sons along with nine grandchildren.
Pris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Barry Ashford, and her parents, Dewey Joseph Manuel and Ida Rita (Fontenot).
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 1:00 pm until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 3:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:30 pm. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
