EUNICE~Our mom passed away on Thursday, May 07, 2020, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side at the age of 97. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Wayne Duet officiating.

Rena retired from banking after twenty eight years.  She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She was an avid collector of elephant figurines. Rena lived her life loving her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren very deeply. She was dedicated to her family and loved to be around children. She was a strong matriarch who will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Precious memories of her will remain forever in the hearts of her family and those who love her especially her seven children, Alvin Paul Rougeau, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Sunset, Eric Luke Rougeau and wife, Jeanne of Eunice, Jean Rougeau Marcantel and husband, Gregory of Jennings, Ann Rougeau Ardoin and husband, Andy of Eunice, Valarie Rougeau Monte' and husband, Stuart of Lafayette, Connie Rougeau Andrepont of Eunice and Donald "D.D." Rougeau and wife, Monica of Eunice; sister, Zula Darbonne of Mamou and brother, Austin "Tony" Brown and wife, Ethel of Iota; seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren and five great- great- grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Paul Rougeau; her parents, Leo and Edna Dupre Brown, and son-in-law, Anthony "Tony" Andrepont.

Pallbearers for the funeral service are Rena’s grandsons, Tony Rougeau, Steven Rougeau, Noel Marcantel, James Monte’, Adam Andrepont, and Kevin Rougeau. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Rougeau, Brian Lopez, Matthew Monte’ and Karson Rougeau.

The family would like to thank her devoted sitters for their loving care of their mother for the last six years.
