EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the family of Renola Theresa Nelson announces her passing on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the age of 90. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Sensat Celebrant.

Renola owned and operated A & W Drive-In in Eunice. She loved French music, dancing, going to Toledo Bend but most of all she enjoyed life with always a smile on her face as well as a mother to all. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her especially her six children, her son, Paul Nelson and wife, Candy of Maurice; son-in-law, Dominick Veillon of Ville Platte; her five daughters, Julianne Romero of Basile, Pamela Young and husband, Oleus of Toledo Bend, TX, Jean N. Fontenot and husband, Benny of Eunice, Theresa Williams and husband, Stephen of Splendora, TX and Mary Nelson and companion, Joey Johnson of Eunice; her sister, Lois Derise of Lake Charles; the joys of her life her eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon L. Nelson; parents, Louis and Leah Gary Moss; sons, Richard and Erik Nelson; daughter, Katherine Veillon; son-in-law, Davis L. Romero; daughter-in-law, Robin Nelson; brother, Clifford Moss; sisters, Meda Viator, Nedia McBride, Lee Remmick and Effie Comeaux.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, March 20th from 10 am until 10 pm and again on Wednesday, March 21st from 8 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7 pm on Tuesday.
