EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard John LaFleur announces his passing on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the age of 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father David Hebert Celebrant.

Richard was a wonderful person and will be remembered as one who loved to tell jokes, ride his four wheeler and had a loved for his dog, Tippy. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his companion, Patsy Fontenot of Basile his three children, Anna LaFleur Ardoin of Bayou Chicot, Paul LaFleur and his wife, Kim of Basile and Kathleen LaFleur of Mamou. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Luke and Heidi Ardoin, Gregory and Caitlin LaFleur, Eric LaFleur, Brian and Ashley LeJeune and seven great grandchildren, Payton Ortego, Adrienne Vega, Rebecca LaFleur, Elijah LeJeune, Jaylin Smith, Jacqueline and Madison LeJeune.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Rita L. LaFleur his parents, Alphonce and Celestine Ducote LaFleur grandson, Jacob LaFleur, three brothers, Allen, Larry, and Clarence LaFleur.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, February 20th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Friday, February 21st from 8:00 am until time of services. Father David Hebert will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Thursday evening.
