EUNICERose Comeauxs children are saddened to announce that their dear mother has passed away on the morning of Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation in Eunice at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant.
Rose worked along the side of her husband, as a bookkeeper for their business in Mamou and she loved working in her community. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, was the 1984 Catholic Daughter of the Year, a member of the Bulb and Blossom Garden Club, and received yard of the week numerous times. She was also a member of the Home Makers Group, very involved with St. Anthony Catholic Church as a Lay Minister, in the funeral choir, Religious Education Program, RCIA sponsor and very involved with St. Eds School. Rose was a leader for the Camp Fire Girl scout as well as a Cub Scout Leader. She received the 2000 Devoted Service Award from the Diocese of Lafayette. She loved gardening and craft hobbies but most of all she was a loving mother to four lovely children, two sons, Charles Keith Comeaux and wife, Gwen of Lafayette, Jody Lear Comeaux of Suwanee, GA two daughters, Katherine Comeaux Smith and husband, Winston of Juneau, AK and Jan Comeaux Parks and husband, Brett of Eunice. She was a loving and wonderful grandmother to eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts she touched.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband of 64 years, Charles Lear Comeaux her parents, Launey and Atile Caswell Vidrine a daughterinlaw, Cindy Comeaux four brothers, Clanis, Remie, LeRoy and Jim Vidrine.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, January 24th from 12 noon until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00 am until time of services. The Catholic Daughters will lead a Rosary at 6:00 pm Friday evening.
