Shelly Lynn Chandler

   EUNICE~ It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shelly Lynn Chandler, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in the Acadian Medical Center. She was just 53 years old. Shelly's Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on January 6, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Opelousas buy Pastor Chad Norman and Brother Chad Thibodeaux.

     Shelly came into this world on December 11, 1970, born to Francis and Eva Touchet. Throughout her life, she found joy in reading, playing monopoly, and exploring new places during her travels. Above all else, her faith was an anchor in her life as a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Spending time with her beloved family brought her immense happiness. Shelly was a devoted wife to Michael "Monty" Chandler for twelve wonderful years. She was a caring mother to Christy LeJeune and her significant other, Caitlin O’Neal, as a part of their family. Shelly also leaves behind her parents Francis and Eva Touchet and her maternal grandfather LeRoy Alleman. David Scott Touchet and his significant other, Stacy Thibodeaux from St. Martinville and Lisa Steward and husband Shane of Holly Beach were blessed to call Shelly their sister. Her loving fur baby Bronco held a special place in her heart as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Shelly. She also leaves behind dear friends who will deeply miss her presence.

     Shelly is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Odey and Cora Touchet, as well as her grandmother, Sybil Alleman.
