Sherry Ann Cormier

IOTA- It is with heavy hearts the family of Sherry Ann Cormier, age 77, announces her passing on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at her home in Iota with beloved family at her side. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iota. Burial will follow in the Assumption Cemetery in Mire with Pastor Kevin Colson, officiating.

      Sherry was born on October 30, 1945, in Cankton, La to Ivy and Avia Smith Cormier, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed attending church, taking care of her animals, going to the beach, and camping. She also liked to shop and go out to eat. Sherry especially loved her plants and gardening. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, John W. LeJeune of Iota, Brian K. LeJeune and companion, Charlotte of Crowley, Maranda F. Prejean and companion, Mickey Lavergne of Church Point, Rhonda L. Myers of Crowley, Ashley D. Miller and husband, Larry “T-Lakes” of Iota, and Alana R. Thibodeaux and  husband, Brent of Washington; sisters, Betty J. Bergeron of Church Point, and Mary Lou Dupre and companion, George Trumps of Maxie; sixteen grandchildren, Tabitha Dugas, Jeremy LeJeune, Christy Torres, Brandon Doucet, Blake Doucet, Ryan Doucet, Chelsie Doucet, Devin Doucet, Ty Doucet, Corey Doucet, Ashton Doucet, Makayla LeGros, Jeffory LeGros Jr., Laiken LeGros, Carmen LeGros, and Bre’ana Thibodeaux; twenty-two great grandchildren; three great grandchildren on the way; as well as extended family and friends.

      She is preceded in death by her husbands, Bruce LeJeune, Fred Bertrand, and Dave Sattler; daughter, Sherice Doucet; parents; seven brothers and one sister; and grandson, Camron LeGros.

      At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 8:00 am until time of services.
