Sherry Manuel Menard

EUNICE- Sherry Manuel Menard, a devoted wife, beloved mother, cherished sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 13, 1950, in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Cary and Alice Bordelon Manuel, Sherry led a life devoted to the love of her family and passion for caring for others as an LPN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Sam Fontana, Celebrant.

A nurse by calling and by nature, Sherry devoted her life to caring for others with skill, compassion, and sense of duty. She spent many dedicated years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Eunice and surrounding areas, dedicating herself to the care of others. She was a nurse at Moosa Memorial Hospital in Eunice, caring for newborns, then at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. Later in her career, she worked for Dr. LeBlanc at the Rural Health Clinic in Elton until her retirement. She is still remembered by patients for her care and compassion, and fellow nurses for her skill and knowledge.

Sherry was also a cherished parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, attending Mass, volunteering, and donating to various church events. She enjoyed tending to her plants, always acquiring more, and flowers, annually making over her flower beds. Her passion for sewing and quilting was also well-known, as she crafted beautiful quilts and handmade items for family and friends throughout the years.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her loyal and devoted husband of 45 years, Floyd Menard of Eunice; her daughters, Denise Mire of Opelousas, Lorraine Mire Vidrine and husband, Jeremy of Bayou Chicot, and Chrissie Menard and companion, William Voitier of Eunice; her son, Chad Menard and wife, Joanna of Houma; sister, Bobbie Manuel Bordelon and husband, Earl of Eunice; sister-in-law, Marilyn Manuel of Ville Platte; thirteen grandchildren, Chipper Menard, Alexis Menard Castille and husband, Brayden, Bailey Menard, Krash Menard, Ashlyn Menard, Tiffany Rutledge, Kari Castille, Jourdain Pellerin, Jared Pellerin and wife, Kalyn, Jaelie Vidrine, Jace Vidrine, Xander Williams, and Zeyiah Williams; nine great-grandchildren, Michael Darbonne, London Darbonne, Kylie Darbonne, Kole Pellerin, Weslyn Pellerin, River Pellerin, Lawson Pellerin, Adley Beth Castille and one on the way; as well as extended family and friends.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.C. Manuel and Harold Manuel; and sisters, Patricia Ann Manuel, Bonnie Dean Manuel, and Grace Manuel.

Visitation to honor Sherry will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm prayed by Father Sam Fontana, and continuing on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
