EUNICEWith much sorrow, the children announces the passing of their beloved father in his 71th year with family by his side at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria on Sunday, October 09, 2011. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Pine Prairie with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.

Simon was a retired Tug Boat Captain and loved to play his accordion, gardening and loved being with his family and friends. But most importantly he was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. A proud, caring man, he will be greatly missed by his son, William Allen Gray and wife, Bridget of Pine Prairie his two daughters, Courtney Ann Duplechin of Pine Prairie and Stacey Gray Caswell and husband, Jay of Eunice his three brothers, Junior Duplechin of Lafayette, Riley Duplechin of Rayne, Carol Duplechin of Eunice his four sisters, Hazel Guillory of Ville Platte, Linda McWhirter of Turkey Creek, Earline McMillian of Chataignier and Betty Thibodeaux of Basile. The littlest joys of his life, his three grandchildren, Connor Ramsey, Macy and Landry Gray. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved son, Kurt Duplechin his parents, Dupre and Martha Thomas Duplechin, Sr and a brother, Mentor Duplechin.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, October 10th from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday evening October 11th and again on Wednesday, October 12th from 8:00 am until time of services.
