BASILE~It is with great sadness that the family of Thilman Ardoin announces his passing on the morning of Monday, April 18, 2016 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at the age of 88. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father David Hebert Celebrant.
A proud veteran, Thilman Ardoin, PFC served in the United States Army in World War II. He loved to fish, hunt and gardening but most of all he loved his family especially his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Granger Ardoin of Basile, his four sons, Mike Ardoin and wife, Pam of Pineville, Larry Ardoin and wife, Alicia of New Roads, Justin Ardoin and wife, Traci of Lake Charles and Ron Ardoin and wife, Deidre of Lafayette; a brother, Julius Ardoin of Basile. He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Anna Bertrand Ardoin; two brothers and four sisters.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Wednesday, April 20th from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, April 21st from 8:00 am until time of services. Father David Hebert will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Wednesday evening.
