Troy Ashford

EUNICE-On Saturday, July 9, 2022, Troy Ashford, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 59 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in Ashford Cemetery with Father Fontana, Celebrant.

Troy had an affinity for, and a vast knowledge of all things associated with sports. In his free time Troy, also known as “Hollywood” and “Brah Man”, enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was fond of his pugs Daisy and Aggie. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock, seventies, and eighties music. Troy was a fierce and courageous fighter, especially in the last three years.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his loving wife of thirty-six years, Becky A. Ashford of Eunice; his three children, Josh Ashford and wife, Tiffany of Basile, Chelsey Ashford Frey and husband, Cameron of Eunice, and Lillian Ashford of Eunice; four siblings, Linda Ashford Cormier of Eunice, Danny Ashford of Jennings, Mike Kenneth Ashford and wife, Janell of Basile, and Phyllis Ashford Dupre of Basile; grandchildren, Connor Ryan, Ella Claire, Vivian Elise, Molly Grace, and Meredith Quinn; as well as extended family and many dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth “Cannonball” and Agnes Courville Ashford, and grandson, Eli Christopher.

Pallbearers include Michael Laird, Rusty Richard, Ryan Vienne, Neal Cormier, Brandan Fontenot and Jacob Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers include Jason Ashford and Cameron Frey.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Monday, July 11th from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and again on Tuesday, July 12th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will pray a Rosary Monday evening at 6:00 pm.
