Verna Mae Miller

With heavy hearts, the family is saddened to announce the passing of Verna Mae Miller on March 19, 2024, at the age of 78. Surrounded by her loved ones, she peacefully departed from this world in the comfort of her home. A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Verna's life will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Friday, March 22nd followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery where Father Sam Fontana will lead the service.
 
Born on July 13, 1945, to Bertie and Verna Marie Rozas Fontenot, Verna was known for her devotion to family and her gentle spirit. She found solace in attending Saturday afternoon Mass, indulging in sewing projects, and immersing herself in the pages of her favorite books. Among her cherished pastimes was watching western shows and finding peace while sitting on the porch.
 
Verna's greatest joy was found in spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered by her three sons: John Miller, Chad Miller, and Brad Miller with his wife Kayla all of Eunice; along with her sister Genora Cormier and husband Shelby of Eunice. Her sixteen grandchildren, Stephanie, Cameron, Whitney, Nicholas, Macy, Joseph, John, Jr, Noah, Jacob, Tiffany, Kaleb, Leah, Zack, Ethan, Hollee and Seth: and sixteen great-grandchildren were truly the light of her life as well as extended family and dear friends. 
 
In the embrace of eternal peace, Verna now joins her beloved husband Horace Joseph Miller, infant son Brock Miller, her parents, and brother Jerry Fontenot who have gone before her.
 
The family welcomes relatives and friends to join them for visitation at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, March 21st from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday, March 22nd from 8:00 am until the time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Thursday to honor Verna's memory.
