EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Virginia Lee Moody announces her passing on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at The Ellington of Rayne at the age of 65. A Celebration of LIfe will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
Viriginia, known as Ginny to all, was born on April 29, 1961, in Eunice, Louisiana to the late Jake and Devena Deshotels Moody. She was well known in Eunice beginning her career at the Eunice Police Department in Records. She then worked for forty-four years as an assistant to the Mayor and as a City Clerk. Ginny also organized the Rendevous Vous de Cajun held at the Liberty Theater for many years. She also had a deep love for her dogs, especially Rosie and Miss.
A loving sister, aunt and friend, Ginny will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her brothers, Kenneth Moody and wife, Laura of Sulphur, Alan Moody and wife, Dorothea of Mandeville, Guy Moody and wife, Annette of Church Point, and Michael Moody of McKinney, TX; her sisters, Claire M. Link of Richard Community, and Mary Anne O’Brien and husband, Gerald of Eunice. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews whom were like children to her, Alice M. Peveto and husband, Brent, Aimee M. LeBlanc and husband, Tony, Catherine L. McGee and husband, Jack, Allie O. Soileau and husband, Stormy, Matthew Link and wife, Shauna, Kevin Link and wife, Hannah, Eric Link and wife, Kelsey, Jake O’Brien and wife, Jordan, Steven Moody and wife, Paige, David Moody and wife, Kassie, Mark Moody and wife, Lexie, Phil Moody and wife, Shree, and Chris Moody; as well as several great nieces and great nephews, and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Mark Link; an infant sister; and nephews, Kevin LeBlanc and Colton Peveto.
Carrying Ginny to her final resting place will be pallbearers, Kevin Link, Matthew Link, Eric Link, Jake O’Brien, Chris Moody, and Mark Moody.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, July 10th from 2:30 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday, July11th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday with Deacon Gary Gaudin.
