EUNICE It is with heavy hearts that the family of Vivian "Viv" Vidrine announces her passing on Sunday, April 08, 2018 at Acadian Medical Center at the age of 88. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 1:30 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant.

Viv was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to cook and she never met anyone she didn't try to feed. She enjoyed camping, visiting family and friends, dancing, and the occasional trip to the casino. Her hobbies were crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She also owned and operated Viv's Yarn Shop for several years and made fast friends with customers. Viv will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, Steve Vidrine and wife, Debra of Eunice, Keith Vidrine of Eunice, and Vickie Gossen and husband, Jude of Scott; sister, Elaine Barzare of Eunice; eleven grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Vidrine; parents, Orize and Nezzie Powers Barzare; three brothers, Elburn, Houston, and Elridge Barzare; and a step grandson.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, April 10th from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, April 11th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Tuesday.
