BASILEA wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Voorhies Beechum Miller will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Voorhies passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette at the age of 87. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the Langley Cemetery with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Voorhies known as Beechum to all who knew him serviced his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II as well as a member of the American Legion.

Beechum leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his son, Randall V. Miller and his wife, Pam of Basile; his grandson, Jeremy Miller and his wife, Kristiana of Basile; and the littlest joys of his life his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Elizabeth, Nathan and Miley Miller.

Now he rests in heaven with his beloved wife, Anna Lois Leckelt Miller; his son, Dalton Miller; his parents, Felix and Marie Marcantel Miller; and his brothers, Percy and Millard Miller.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Monday, November 16, 2009 from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Robbie Leger will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
