Wilbur Young

EUNICE-Wilbur Willie Young passed away on January 27, 2009, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou.

Wilbur was retired from the St. Landry Sheriff Department and also a veteran of the United States Marines during the Korean War. He was active in the Eunice Players Theater and also acted in several feature films. A loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, he is survived by his son, Rob Young, and wife, Sandra of Los Angeles; a daughter, Faye Arceneaux and husband, Ernest of Eunice; two brothers, Jimmy Young of Eunice and Johnny Young of Port Barre; a sister, Joyce Smith of Opelousas; three grandchildren, Erik Arceneaux, Megan Arceneaux Blanchard, and Spencer Arceneaux; four great grandchildren, Emily Arceneaux, Demi Arceneaux, Kemi Arceneaux and Jace Blanchard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Diane House Young; his parents, Artiste and Lydia Fruge Young; and numerous siblings.
