Wilda Lejeune

BASILE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Wilda A. LeJeune announce her passing on Thursday, July 18, 2019 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 95.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, July 22, 2019 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown Celebrant.

Wilda, retired from WW Stewart as a cafeteria worker and always welcomed the kids with a smile and a hug. Her love and kindness to others was limitless and her faith was tremendous.  Regardless of how long you knew her you quickly realized and experienced compassion, generosity and love.  Spending time with family and friends brought joy to her life and it was impossible  for anyone to leave her house hungry. In the opinion of many she made the best cup of coffee.  Heaven's gain is our loss. Wilda leaves behind her daughter, Jacqueline Martin and husband, Leslie of Zachary; thirteen grandchildren, Tony Johnson, Otis Johnson, Rachel Fontenot, Justin LeBlue, Roxie Chaisson, Jason Pitre, Donna Guillory, Jamie Fontenot, Ryan LeJeune, Angelle Seeley, Londie Martin, Leslie Martin, JR. and Lisa Martin; thirty six great grandchildren; forty one great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis LeJeune; her children, Kermick Johnson, Theresa Pitre, Dolan Fontenot, Ron LeJeune, great grandson, Casey Johnson, great great grandson, Maverick Elkins; parents, Fada and Martine Manuel Ardoin; one sister and three brothers.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, July 21st from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, July 22nd from 8:00 am until time of services.  A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm on Sunday.
