Obituary

Willie Courville, a lifelong resident of Eunice, was born on August 13, 1940, in Eunice, Louisiana. She was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Thursday, August 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Father Sam Fontana will officiate the services. Willie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Leroy, at Courville Cemetery.

In her younger years, Willie worked at New Horizons Nursing Home and Eckerd's Pharmacy, where she faithfully served her community. Willie had a gentle spirit and found happiness in the simple blessings of everyday life. She loved spending time in her garden, where she found peace among her flowers, and could often be found with a good book in her hands, enjoying stories from every genre. Music filled her heart, especially the beautiful voice of Andrea Bocelli, and she never tired of watching her favorite British television shows, including Murder, She Wrote, Father Brown, The Andy Griffith Show, and Call the Midwife. Above all, Willie had a special love for babies. Seeing the little ones at church always brought a smile to her face, and she treasured every opportunity to admire and visit with them. Her warm heart, gentle smile, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters, Kathy Manuel, Carol Prejean, Tammy (David) Castille, and Rachel (Luke) LeMaire; her brother, Jerrel Brinkman; her sister, Kitty Briggs; her grandchildren, Kamie (Eric) Thornton, Alan (Courtney) Manuel, Matthew (Rachel) Manuel and their father, Michael Manuel; Cody Prejean, Katie (Charry) Lam and their father Leland Prejean; Brandon (Shanna) Castille, Britney and her fiancé, Mario, Sebastian LeMaire, Elizabeth LeMaire, and Benjamin LeMaire; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.

Willie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leroy Courville; her son, Ray Allen Courville; her parents, Willie Brinkman and Celima Ryder; her granddaughter, Brandy Castille; her brother, Harry Johnson; and her sister, Judy Brinkman.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Lamm Health Hospice, Dr. John Rainey, and all of Willie's devoted caregivers for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they showed throughout her journey.
