alignleft EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2:30 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice for Willis Langley, Jr., 67, who passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009 at his residence. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile with Father Tom Voorhies Celebrant.
Willis, a resident of Eunice, held a Bachelors Degree in Education, a Masters in History and had 30 hours into his Doctrine. He played football at LSU from 1960 until 1964, after being awarded a football scholarship, and also played with the Chinese Bandits. From 1964 until 1965, he played with the Houston Oilers. He was a former football coach for many years in the region, and then became one of the first MFA insurance agents in Louisiana in 1972.
A loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Willis is survived by his son, Willis Trey Langley III and his wife, Sheree Rene of Keatchie; two daughters, Charlotte Langley Fox and her husband, Shawn of Welsh, and Cindy Langley of Eunice; a sister, Helen Langley of Bossier City; his seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Payton, and Elizabeth Fox, Shelton and Tayte Langley, and Brett and Carrie Soileau; his niece, Jessica Maddoux and her husband, Rusty of Bossier City; his nephew, Lynn Langley and his wife, Elaine of Eunice; his great niece, Rusty Ann Maddoux and his great nephew, J. C. Maddoux. Willis will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Agatha Fruge Langley, Sr.; and two brothers, Gus and Albert Langley.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Monday, March 23, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 8:00 am until Services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Monday evening.
