EUNICE-It is with great sadness that the family of Yvonne G. Latiolais announces her passing on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington with Father Ed Duhon Celebrant.
Yvonne was a retired registered nurse who worked in the surgery room at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou and she also worked at Moosa Memorial and Opelousas General. She was a Catholic Daughter of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She deeply cherished her family and valued her friends and brought smiles to all who knew her. A kind, generous, and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Yvonne will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Connie Leger and her husband, Michael of Eunice; her brother, James R. Gibson of West Wego; her sister, Faye Halls of Milton, FL; her two wonderful grandchildren, Michael Ryan Leger and Janet Terri Leger; and her four loving great grandchildren, Cody Blake Leger, Abrial Leger, Eric Kain Veillion and Bryleigh Douget.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie L. Latiolais; and her daughter, Elizabeth Kay Latiolais Hively.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
