Bridget Fruge Berzas

EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bridget Fruge Berzas announces her passing on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles at the age of 60. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Sal Istre, Celebrant.

Bridget was born in Eunice on September 03, 1961 to Jesse Paul and Frances Delores Zaunbrecher Fruge. She was a devoted Registered Nurse Supervisor at Acadian Medical Center the past twelve years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Bridget was very sentimental and had a deep faith that was like no other. Everyone enjoyed her unmatched sense of humor and was silly and sassy. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Bridget leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her mother, Teenie Fruge of Eunice; her children, Joshua Shawn Chapman and wife, Melissa of Prairieville, Ashley Nicole LeBouef and husband, Dustin of Basile, and Jamie Marie Darbonne and husband, Paul of Basile; her brothers, Raymond Fruge and wife Tammy of Eunice, and Duane Fruge and wife, Roni of Gonzales; her sisters, Marie “Therese” Janise and husband, Sherman of Eunice, Phyllis Steech and husband, Gene of Lake Charles, and Gwen Cart and companion, Paul Troquille of Eunice; twelve grandchildren, Mason Chapman. Ella Kate Chapman, Crawford Chapman, Gracie LeBouef, Eli LeBouef, Drake LeBouef, Chelsey Neal, Lane Darbonne, Jacob Berzas, Tyler Langlinais, Hayden Meyer, and Layla Berzas; two great grandchildren, Tucker and Sawyer Neal; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jesse Paul Fruge and son, Benjamin Paul Berzas.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, December 8th from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on, Thursday, December 9th from 11:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 6:30 pm by Deacon Chuck Ortego.
