EUNICE~ Sadly, Catherine “Cathy” Miller was senselessly and tragically taken away from us from injuries sustained by an act of domestic violence on Thursday, April 02, 2020 at the age of 31. She was a resident of Eunice, La. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date for family and friends to gather in her honor.

Catherine, known to many as “Cathy/DeDen”, lived and went to high school in the Philippines and became a citizen of the US in 2007. She attended SLCC and received a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2013. Cathy was the director at United Medical Staffing for 2 years and worked at various hospitals putting herself in the front line for her patients. She was a loving, dedicated and devoted mother, daughter and friend. To anyone who had the grace to be touched by her care free spirit will forever be moved by her. Cathy was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, her beautiful voice and her ability to touch the hearts and lives of anyone who met her. She loved traveling, being with friends, dancing and singing karaoke. She was so in tuned with life and herself that she found joy in everything she did. Cathy was spontaneous, hardworking, kind, and compassionate for people and her career. On top of all these beautiful traits Cathy had, if asked by her, her greatest and proudest accomplishment in life was her daughter, Harper. Cathy loved the time she was able to spend with her and was looking forward to making more cherishable memories.  She was our family’s’ greatest leader, our biggest supporter and our greatest friend.  It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. Cathy will be missed by the hearts of many.

She will lovingly be remembered by her five year old daughter, Harper Dallas; her mother, Socorro D. Catimbang of Eunice; her father, Sofronio Catimbang of Iriga City, Philippines; her fiancé, Jeff Losner of McKinney, Texas; her maternal grandmother, Gloria Dimaiwat and paternal grandmother, Pastora Catimbang both of the Philippines; her two sisters, Karen and Kathleen Catimbang; her niece, Karliste Malle all from the Philippines; her best friend and co-worker Mitzi Lanclos of Port Barre.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Mario B. Dimaiwat and her paternal grandfather, Sofronio Catimbang, Sr.

We urge all who knew Cathy’s Story to remember her as we do and to reflect on the circumstances that made for her tragic death. We each can play a role to prevent this from happening to someone else. If you suspect a woman is the victim of domestic violence, say or try to do something. The outcome may not be unfortunate like our loved one was.
