Donnis Maybrier

BASILE ~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donnis Bossley Maybrier announces her passing on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Oak Lane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 92. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown, Celebrant.

She was born on March 28, 1930 to Anthony and Virginia Dartez Bossley in Egan. She was a 1947 graduate of Basile High School and was on the tennis team. Donnis was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a truly kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Augustine choir, Ladies Alter Society, CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister and Lector.  A member of the Future Homemakers of America “Farmerettes.” She loved gardening, sewing, baking, traveling and antique bottle hunting. Donnis loved God, Country and Family. She may no longer be in our lives, but she lives forever in our hearts, especially in her children, Ricky Maybrier and wife, Diane, Johnny Maybrier and Jo Ann Maybrier Smith and husband, Craig all of Basile; her daughter-in-law, Phyllis B. Maybrier of Basile. The joys of her life her eleven grandchildren, Teri M. Sittig and husband, Ryan, Richlyn M. Langley and husband, Jeremy, Jessica M. Lefeaux and husband, Rodney, Blake Maybrier and wife, Ashley, Katelyn M Borissov and husband, Mihail, Nikki M. Todd and husband, Chad, Katherine Maybrier, Ariel M. Brown and husband, Aaron, Alexis M. Cryer and husband, Aaron, Jared Smith and fiancé, Danielle Thibodeaux and Jenny Smith and sixteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in the death by her husband, Buck Maybrier; son, Robert Anthony Maybrier; grandson, John Douglas Maybrier; brothers, Garland and Robert Bossley.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 10:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Wednesday.
