Dorothy Fontenot

EUNICE-It is with the heavy hearts that the family of Dorothy Lee Fontenot announces her passing on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the age of 90. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Sensat, Celebrant.

Dorothy worked at National Food Store in Opelousas for many years, and later in life worked as a door greeter at Walmart in Eunice. She will be remembered by all and memories of her will be cherished, especially by her sisters, Gursie Fuselier and husband, Lester, Shella Fruge and husband, Gregory Lee, and Monica Olivier and late husband, Garret Wayne, all of Eunice, as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Amelia Meche Fontenot; brothers, Kelly James Fontenot and N.C. Louis Fontenot; sisters, Beverly Fontenot Moreau and Clara Fontenot Carpenter; nephews, Dwayne Louis Fontenot and Byron James Fontenot; great nephew, Lance Ryan Manuel; and great niece, Cynthia Richard Laughlin.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, December 30th from 10:00 am until time of services.
