Dorothy Douget

EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Dorothy Fontenot Douget announces her passing on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Opelousas General Hospital at the age of 77.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Friday, January 31, 2020. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Matthew Hebert Celebrant.

Dorothy, was a native of Eunice and  was a resident of Heritage Manor for the past eleven years. She was a graduate of St. Ed's and worked many years at the Fontenot Grocery Store and was a caretaker for the elderly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her sister, Vernita Fontenot O'Pry and she was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Douget, Jr.; parents. Clarence and Mazie Ardoin Fontenot and her siblings, Clarence S. Fontenot, Jr and Margaret Fontenot Coleman

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, January 31st from 11:00 am until time of services.
