Errol Young

EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Errol J. Young announces his passing at the Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation in Eunice on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the age of 90. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery in Mamou with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.

Errol was a hardworking farmer all his life. He loved all of his family and enjoyed to cook, especially sauce piquant. Errol will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his daughters, Gwen Humbarger and husband, Doug of Jennings, and Elizabeth LeJeune and husband, Neil of Duralde; six grandchildren, Natasha Kratzer, Brandi Doucet, Scott Godeaux, Andrea Miller, Lauren Comeaux, and Lynnette James; thirteen great grandchildren, Cade Fontenot, Francesca Kratzer, Nathan Godeaux, Alexys Miller, Brendan Doucet, Joseph Miller, Alexandra Kratzer, Peyton Kratzer, Colin Miller, William Comeaux, Jack Comeaux, Harper James, and Jett James; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Fontenot Young; daughter, Debra Decou; parents, Evarice and Evinna Rougeau Young; and brother, Dwight Young.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, February 29th from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Sunday, March 1st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite at rosary at 6:00 pm Saturday.
