EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Herman Joseph Fruge announces his passing on Tuesday, November 01, 2022, at The Crossing at Charity Hospice in Baton Rouge. He was 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, November 04, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Nick Ware, Celebrant.

Herman was born in Eunice on April 15, 1941 to the late John and Nora Miller Fruge. He started working at Baroid as a mud engineer and worked offshore. He went into business for himself DP Corrosian Control in Eunice and later retired as an insurance salesman. He loved woodworking and building things in his shop. A sportsman and an avid hunter, especially deer, he enjoyed going hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his three sons, Brent Joseph Fruge and wife, Jackie of Mulberry, FL, Michael James Fruge and wife, Geralyn of Prairieville and Scott Christopher Fruge and wife, Candace of Denham Springs; three brothers, John Fruge and Mary of Iowa, Clifton Fruge and wife, Brenda of Mamou and Terry Fruge of Eunice; the eleven joys of his life,  his grandchildren, Whitney Parker and husband, Carson, Hunter Fruge, Chelsea Fruge, Drake Fruge and wife, Alyce, Patrick Fruge and wife, Vanessa, Kelley Fruge and wife, Caitlyn, Elliot Fruge and fiancé, Lauren, Zachary Fruge, Grace Fruge, Eve Fruge and Charles Fruge; five great grandchildren, Freddie Parker, Olivia Fruge, Kassie and Theodore Fruge and Adelaide Fruge; as well as extended family and many dear friends. Our dad, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend may no longer be in our lives, but he lives forever in our hearts

He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of forty-seven years, Hedy Parent Fruge; siblings, D.J. Fruge, Clara Castille and Bruce Fruge.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, November 3rd from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, November 4th from 9:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will pray a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday.

At the request of the family in lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Herman may be donated online to sarnellihouse.org/online-donation or mail to Friends of Sarnelli House UA Box 88234, Milwaukee, WI 53288-0235.
