Joyce Deshotel

EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce Deshotel announces her passing on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Oak Lane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Eunice at the age of 92. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin, officiating.

Joyce was born in Mamou on February 28, 1929, to Eraste and Lizzie Marcantel Fuselier. She was a retired nurse, and she was known as the dancing queen of the south.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her son, Michael Brunet and wife, Rebecca of Eunice; granddaughter, Amy B. Miller and husband, Douglas of Eunice; two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Hope May; godchild, Janel Joan Johnson and husband, Jay as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Ferdie Lee Brunet, Kenneth Fruge and Harold Deshotel; siblings, Otis Fuselier, Lena Pierrotti and Winnie Fontenot and a granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Brunet.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, January 27th from 9:00 am until time of services.
