EUNICE-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Kenneth Ray Briscoe announces his passing at Acadian Medical Center on February 4, 2021 at the age of 74. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.

Better known as Breezy to family and friends, and Pop to his grandchildren, Kenneth was born March 23, 1946 and grew up in Church Point, LA. He served in the U.S. Army in the Panama Canal Zone during the Vietnam War. He married his wife, Bernita, in 1973. They moved Eunice the following year and have since called it home.

Kenneth worked as a welder in his younger years but began working as an oilfield production operator for Amoco (now BP) in the late ‘70s and worked there until his retirement. He loved camping with family and friends, listening to live Cajun music, and spoiling the grandkids. He was also a proud life member of VFW Post 8971.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bernita Olivier Briscoe of Eunice; two sons—Brady, and wife Melanie, of Prosper, TX and Chad, and wife Amanda, of Eunice, LA; six grandchildren—Dominic, Noah, Matthew, Anna Clare, Lily, and Nathan, all of Eunice; and his sister, Carlis Briscoe of Church Point, LA; as well as a host of beloved extended family and long-time friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan J. Briscoe; his mother, Eurella Leger Briscoe; and his brother, James Craig Briscoe.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and again on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 8:00 am until time of services. On Sunday, a VFW Service will be held at 5:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 5:30 pm recited by Father Kennan Brown.
