Kenneth Bushnell

Basile~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Kenneth Roy Bushnell, Jr. announces his passing on Sunday, September 05, 2021, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was 54. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Burial will follow in the Indian Village Cemetery  in Kinder with Father Keenan Brown, Celebrant.

Kenneth, better known to many as “Papoose” was a pipeline operator.  He was an avid deer and duck hunter. He loved to cook with his family and friends and spending his free time with his nieces and nephew. Papoose was very giving of his time and energy whenever any family member or friend needed help, he never met a stranger. He will be truly missed by all the lives he has touched. He will forever be remembered by his three siblings, Angel Bushnell James, Kevin Bushnell and Chance Bushnell all of Basile: five nephews, two nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Stella Bushnell,  father Kenneth Bushnell, stepmother, Sue Bushnell, his siblings, Murphy and Felica Bushnell.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, September 10th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, September 11th from 8:00 am until time of services. The Class of 1987 will lead the Rosary at 6:00 pm on Friday.
