EUNICE~ With the heaviest hearts the family of Lawrence “Larry” Sanders sadly announces his passing on Monday, December 26, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was eighty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Duralde. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum in Eunice with Father Blaine Clement, Celebrant.

Lawrence (Larry to many) was born on February 28, 1942, in Eunice to Robert and Mildred Bertrand Sanders. Larry was a retired farmer, a loving husband, father brother grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his loving wife of sixty years, Sherrill Deshotels Sanders of Duralde; his children, Luke Sanders and wife, Monica of Duralde, Daniel Sanders and wife, Suzanne of L’anse Meg, Patrick Sanders and partner, David Brasseaux of Lafayette, Eric Sanders of Duralde and Karen Sanders Lavergne and husband, Shannon of Eunice;  brother, Donnie O’Brien of Shreveport; sister, Diane S. Young and husband Ricky of Basile; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Phyllis Jones.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 28 ^th from 10:30 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am by the Knights of Columbus Council 9935.
