Eunice

Eunice~ On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Michael Douglas Bergeron, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away at the age of 75 years. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Chuck Ortego, officiating.

Michael Douglas was born in Eunice on December 18, 1946, to Jimmie and Effie Blanchard Bergeron. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He worked at Cleco as a lineman and retired after thirty- five years. He was involved in the VFW, Member of Woodmen of the World, usher at St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Eunice Boucherie. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and loved dancing. Michael will be forever remembered by his wife, of fifty- two loving years, Glenda Israel Bergeron of Eunice, his children, Cynthia “Cindy” B. Hidalgo and husband, Marcus of Omaha, NE, James Bergeron and wife, Tina of Eunice, Scott Bergeron and wife, Wendy of San Antonio, TX and Clint Bergeron and wife, Stephanie of Bayou Chicot; brother, Dale Menier and wife, Flo of Mamou; sisters, Alida Bazar and Diana Pierrotti both of Mamou; the joys of his life his eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as extended family and  dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Larry Bergeron and Willand Menier.

At the request of the family, visitation will begin on Friday, March 18th from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, March 19th from 10:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm on Friday.
