BASILE~It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the loss of our beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend, Nathan Miller on Thursday, June 25, 2020 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. He was 93. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Basile. Burial will follow in the Protestant Cemetery with Pastor Mike Fontenot, officiating.

He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Navy entering as a 17 year old. When he was honorably discharged, he went work in the oilfield and retired in 1989 as an operator with Liquid Petroleum Gas. Nathan was a long-time member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Basile. He loved to sing and sang in the church choir for many years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the garden. A proud, caring man, he will be greatly missed by family and friends. Nathan’s memory will live on in all who loved him, especially his two daughters, Linda Kephart of Basile and Mary Elizabeth Fusilier and husband, Warren of Houston, TX; his son, Robert Miller and wife, Sandra of Basile; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rose Miller; his daughter, Paulette Corbridge; his parents, Leopold and Pauline Bellon Miller; and a sister, Myrtis Hoychick and her late husband, John.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Basile on Friday, June 26th from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 27th at First Baptist Church from 8:00 am until time of services.
