Phillip Fontenot

EUNICE~It is with great sadness that the family of Phillip James Fontenot announces his passing on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. He was 63. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the New St. Ann Cemetery in Mamou with Deacon Chuck Ortego, officiating.

Phillip was a hard worker and also known to many as the number one welder. He was full of life and was described as a gentle giant and a ladies’ man. He loved fishing , hunting, cooking and  talking politics. But most of all he loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his companion, Donna Amy of Eunice; his brother, Brent Fontenot and wife, Brenda of Breaux Bridge; sister, Janel Johnson and husband, Jay of Lafayette; cousin, Michael Kenneth Brunet and wife, Becky of Eunice; nieces and nephews, Brent Fontenot, II, Jayson Johnson, Travis Fontenot, Kelly Fontenot, Tracy Fontenot and Casey Broussard; step daughter, Misty Leleux; two grandchildren, Summar Leleux and Xander Bruno; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Enell and Winnie Fuselier Fontenot and a sister Rita F. Granger.
