EUNICE~Sweenie Joseph Fruge, Jr was a caring father, brother, grandfather and friend. He passed away  on Tuesday, March 09, 2021 at the Acadia General Hospital in Crowley with loving family by his side at the age of 76.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30pm  on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Our Lady of Mt. Sweenie proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked in the oilfield as a gauger. Sweenie loved hunting, fishing, watching sports, especially LSU, cooking suppers for his friends and speaking Cajun French.  But most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Sweenie is survived by his two children, Adam Fruge of Rayne and Allison F. Creasman and husband, Chris of Lake Charles. He is also survived by the four joys of his life, his grandchildren, Eli and A. J. Fruge, Marley and Nico Duplechien: his siblings, Danny Fruge and wife, Gloria of Rayne and Lisa Fruge of Eunice. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. We will miss him every day.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sweenie and Nellie Johnson Fruge; siblings, Drucella Harper and Glenda Fruge and his daughter-in-law, Lindsey Thomas Fruge.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, March 12th from  8:00 am until time of services.
