EUNICE~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Wendell Smith announces his passing on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Acadia General Hospital in Crowley at the age of 64. A Celebration of Wendell’s life will be celebrated at 5:00 pm  on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice with Pastor Heather Ardoin officiating.  Burial in the Maxie Cemetery.

Wendell retired as a senior hydraulic mechanic with Cleco and he loved his job. He was a man of few words who liked to read. He loved his family and  will be missed by all who knew and loved him especially   his daughter, Amy Smith and fiancé Jeramie of Eunice; the two joys of his life, his grandchildren, Leathan and Blaikelyn Ryder;  his former wife of forty five years, Janet Smith of Eunice; his half-brother, Wayne Ray Lawson of Deridder; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George, Jr and Beatrice Arceneaux Smith.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, October 25th from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
